Discovery Day

Discovery Day is a single-site, rotation-based event showcasing several academic schools, programs, centers and departments on the Jackson campus of The University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Discovery Day is designed to expose high school (10^th, 11^th and 12^th grade) and undergraduate student groups to health care and research careers and the educational programs that lead to them.

Discovery Day is held in the Norman C. Nelson Student Union, located on the northeast side of the main campus.

We are excited to host high school and undergraduate student groups for this career discovery and degree program exploration event during the 2026-2027 academic year:

• Thursday, September 24, 2026

• Thursday, October 15, 2026

• Friday, February 12, 2027

• Friday, February 26, 2027

• Friday, March 19, 2027

• Friday, April 9, 2027

Depending on the submission date of the request form, we will notify groups as early as July 15, 2026, regarding the selection of the participating groups for the Fall 2026 events. There are a limited number of event days and group slots for each event day. We appreciate your patience as we work to match groups with their preferred dates and accommodate as many student groups as possible during the academic year.
